Society for Community Organisation and Rural Development known as SCORD is a registered development NGO started by a group of progressive social minded youths in 1990 with the mission of "uplifting" socially marginalised and deprived section of society. SCORD is managed by a Executive Committee of 7 members. Being started at village level services in 1990, in five villages, now it is functioning in 106 Panchayats in Thiruvarur and Thanjavur districts of Tamil Nadu, India.
Mr. U. Anbarasu is the Founder-Secretary who has devoted his whole life from his College Days for the cause and concern of Voiceless Rural Community. He is guiding the Youth Team with the spirit of Equality and Justice, Empowerment and Development.

VisionIndia is a country of diverse culture, language, religion, belief and faith. There is a wide gap between rich and poor and disparity among men and women with traditional binding and ignorance. Establishment of equality and gender justice without caste, creed, region, religion ethnicity or gender bias among the society is the Vision of the Organisation.

The General Body (GB) is the apex body of the organisation consisting of 20 members. It meets at least once in a year. The deliberations or decisions and recommendations of the Executive Committee are placed in the General Body for assent and concurrence.
The administration of SCORD is vested with the Executive Committee in which there are seven members including the President, Vice - President, Secretary, Treasurer and three Members.

- Registered as charitable institution under Section 12(AA) and exempted from Income Tax under Section 80(G) of Income Tax Act 1961 of India.

SCORD is providing valuable services in Mannargudi, Kottur Blocks and Mannargudi urban slum settings in Tiruvarur District and Madhukkur and Thiruvonam Blocks in Thanjavur District in Tamil Nadu, India. It is working in 106 Panchayats of above geographical area. Alangottai, a small village near Mannargudi is the Headquarters of SCORD, which is with basic infra structure such as Training and Communication Logistics and Administrative Personnel.
